Good reasons to quit smoking

The law of addiction

The law of addiction states:

"Administration of a drug to an addict will cause re-establishment of chemical dependence upon the addictive substance"

This includes: tobacco, nicotine patches, nicotine chewing gum, nicotine sweets, nicotine inhaler, electronic cigarette, etc… By law of addiction, nicotinic substitutes do nothing but to maintain addiction.

"The success rate for Nicorette gum or other nicotine substitute is generally not as great as many smokers would like to believe because it just re-introduces nicotine back into the body"

See for yourself in the following clip why nicotine substitution methods are not effective:

Understanding the law of addiction

Understanding The Law of Addiction implies the acceptance of three fundamental principles:

  1. The addiction resulting from the use of nicotine it’s in fact a chemical addiction, taking over the same reward neuronal pathways of dopamine, such as alcoholism and cocaine or heroin;
  2. Once installed, you cannot cure or STOP the addiction, but only ARREST it, and...
  3. Once ARRESTED, no matter how long you remain free from the yoke of nicotine, ONLY a dose of nicotine can create a very high probability of relapse completely.

Watch the following clip to see what insidious ways of promotion and manipulation the cigarette companies have had over time.

Stop! Look what's happening today. Find a pattern? Quitting Smoking

see how nice it is to be a non-smoker

Cigarettes are not a pleasure, actually they have nothing pleasant and nothing healthy in their composition. Think abut it for a moment! When you smoked your first cigarette, your very first puff... you liked the taste, the smell? You liked something the slightest bit? Now try to blow cigarette smoke over your pet or even your baby. Note their reaction? ... Could they really know better than you what's toxic and what’s not? Why don’t YOU know?

Nicotine passes the threshold of being JUST a drug. It is a powerful poison used in industry for insecticide manufacturing.

This is what Wikipedia says about nicotine:

"It functions as an antiherbivore chemical with particular specificity to insects; therefore nicotine was widely used as an insecticide in the past, and currently nicotine analogs such as imidacloprid continue to be widely used"

Here is the power of this drug...

If you inject the nicotine contained in a single cigarette, you will die on spot. And nicotine is not the only danger from a cigarette.

I want to confess that after you free yourself from this addiction you will not be able to save the money spent on cigarettes, you will, most certainly, find other uses and you will still spend that money. But you'll get rich with a long forgotten lust for life and you will be infinitely happier, calmer and more relaxed. You will regain self-confidence and self-esteem.

Don’t think you have already affected your health. Get rid of this addiction and you'll be able to regain it very easily. Of course I will not refer here to irreversible and incurable diseases.

To clarify I'll give you my own example:

"I started smoking quite early, as a kid still growing. After just one year of smoking I’ve started to have tooth problems. The teeth began to hurt ... and began to have more severe problems. The treatments were expensive and their effects seemed to vanish after just 2-3 months, then the pain came back...until I’ve started to lose some teeth that where affected."

"When I became a non-smoker two years I have never had tooth pain and slowly I started to fix my teeth to bring them to the state that should be. This is only one example. I can give dozens, but I think you understood the message."

Your body is a miracle ... it can recover from anything, even alone, without help but the condition is to stop poisoning it. That’s what I want to help you accomplish.

Why quit smoking???
  • Quit smoking and you'll find in just a few days the entire sense of taste and smell.
  • By quitting smoking, you will regain a more regular and more natural breathing.
  • Getting rid of this bad habit, you will regain a balanced lifestyle, a truly refreshing sleep.
  • You'll spend less money, in fact you will actually save time and money. A good motivation is saving money spent on cigarettes to realize the project of your dreams which you have been putting-off for a long time. You will find-out that you don't just have more money, but you will actually have more time to do the things which you have been putting off due to lack of time.
  • Whatever they say, you will not gain weight if you quit smoking. I am the living example, in fact I need some extra pounds, but stopping smoking didn’t furnished me with extra pounds. I have friends that gained a few pounds durring the first weeks after quitting, but later they’ve gained back their original form which they had before quitting.
  • Quitting smoking will restore your healthy looking skin and hair, and your fingers, teeth and breath will not betray the habit you once had.
  • Giving up smoking, you will regain your place in society; the existence of many places where smoking is prohibited will allow you to have a normal, healthy lifestyle and permanently avoid the temptations of tobacco.
  •
    It's cooler not to smoke

Nowadays, smokers began to panic. They realize that society has changed. Smoking is generally considered unacceptable in our society today, even by smokers. They also realize that the end is near. Millions of smokers are starting to get rid of smoking and all smokers are aware of this.

Smokers can’t find a logical reason to smoke, but if someone else smokes they have the impression that smoking isn’t stupid.

Smokers lie without blinking regarding their habit: they are not only fooling the others, but they are bull-shitting themselves. They must lie. Brainwashing is essential to maintain a bit of self-respect. They need to justify their habit not only to themselves but also to non-smokers. As a result, they always promote delusive benefits of smoking.

Nowadays the society starts to see what smoking really is: a disgusting form of addiction to the drug. Pleasure was always an illusion, and the new attitude of society dispels the illusion, so that the smoker does not hold anything. If you don’t believe what I’m saying and you don’t believe that people are starting to realize what smoking really is, then what you say about Finland (the first country that wants to ban smoking completely on its territory)? Finland has already started preparations to implement this measure and until 2015 will be prohibited the cigarette dispensers and display of tobacco products on store shelves will become illegal.

Another state that boasts the measures taken by Finland is New Zealand. Authorities here say that there is a need for similar measures in New Zealand.

Positive changes when you quit smoking
Take a look at the positive changes that occur in your body once you quit tobacco use
After 20 Minutes: Blood pressure and heart rate drop
After 12 hours: Carbon monoxide levels drop to normal
After 2 weeks to 3 months: Circulation of the lung function improves and the risk of having a heart attack begins to drop
After 1 to 9 months: Coughing and shortness of breath decrease
After 1 year :Risk of coronary heart disease is half of that of a smoker’s
After 5 to 15 years: Risk of stroke is reduced to that of a nonsmoker’s and risk of getting cancer of the mouth, throat, or esophagus is half that of a smoker’s
After 10 years: Risk of coronary heart disease is the same as that of a nonsmoker

    Damage from smoking

Tobacco smoke contains over 4800 chemicals, 69 of which are known to cause cancer! Carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrogen oxides, hydrogen cyanide, and ammonia are all present in cigarette smoke in addition to nicotine, tar and arsenic.
These chemicals are commonly found in products such as insect repellents, construction materials, nail polish remover and poisons, as well as car exhaust.
Smokeless tobacco, cigars, pipes, and “light” or “low tar” cigarettes are not a safe alternative to cigarettes. These still contain the same cancer causing agents and will not reduce your risk for disease associated with smoking.
The good news is that if you quit tobacco, you can reduce your risk for disease. When you quit, your body can heal quickly, and over time you can reduce your risk of disease to match that of someone who has never used tobacco.

What if you don't quit smoking?
It’s not news that using tobacco is the number one cause of preventable death in the developed world and the number two cause of preventable death worldwide. But why should we quit smoking?
Because some of the common ill-health effects from tobacco use include:
    • Heart disease
    • Stroke
    • Cancer of the lung, mouth, throat and bladder
    • Emphysema and chronic bronchitis
    • Blindness
    • Premature wrinkles and aging of the skin
15 years after quitting, the risk of coronary heart disease is the same as that of a nonsmoker
